What does this paper find?

Estimates total factor productivity for Chilean copper mining between 1985 and 2015 using a long-run cost function with capital, labour, and energy inputs, modelling resource depletion (declining ore grades) as an exogenous, unpaid force opposing technological change. TFP fell sharply over the period, but around 15% of the measured decline is attributable to the increase in resource depletion rather than to lost efficiency.
